Where to find us

We’re half way along Great Portland Street between Langham Place and New Cavendish Street, 120 yards from the BBC. The interior is on two floors and has a wonderful galleried space with an open atrium. The artist Marc Quinn has given us two unique hand-printed large iris prints which are displayed around the atrium.

We have close to a thousand optical frames and sunglasses in stock but displayed in such a way as to not be overwhelming, featuring frames that are only available in high end independent optical practices.

Passion with Experience

Passion with Experience

Head of the new Great Portland Street team is Tanja Bobic, a dispensing optician who was previously in a busy practice in St John’s Wood for eight years.

She is joined by the gorgeous Dana Ghebac, who has six years’ experience in eyewear and is currently doing the Dispensing Optician course.

We are also very pleased to introduce Rush Patel, another qualified dispensing optician, who has loads of experience in both independent and chainstore opticians. He is the sports eyewear guru and has a passion for Mykita Mylons and repairing glasses that most people would give up on!

The optical and sunglass collections are curated from the finest independent frame-makers, including Cutler and Gross, Mykita, Kuboraum, Thierry Lasry and Dita.

There is also a private area for Hoffman buffalo horn frames.

The business ethos is to provide great-quality optical products in a friendly manner, whilst offering great frame choice, appropriate lens dispensing and thorough and accurate eye examinations at decent prices. (Bit of a mouthful, but I'm sure you get the idea...)

Eye Care and Technology

Eye Care and Technology

The examination room features state-of-the-art instrumentation, including a
Topcon OCT (optical coherence tomography) instrument which, as well as taking a photograph of the back of the eye, scans the retinal layers, much like an MRI, and can reveal far more than a photo on its own. This is helpful in diagnosis and management in glaucoma, macular degeneration and retinal/vitreous detachments.

I also have a host of state-of-the-art
Topcon and Nikon instruments, including one that allows me to determine the spectacle prescription to a previously unachievable accuracy.

Sports Eyewear

Sports Eyewear

We have a large area dedicated to sports eyewear, including eyewear specific to tennis, cycling, skiing, mountaineering and caber tossing. Rush (see above) is our sports- enthusiastic dispensing optician (obsessive, if you ask me), with whom we can arrange a specific consultation to best wade through the myriad of frame and lens options and come up with the best solution.

Progressive Lens Specialists

Progressive Lens Specialists

As specialists in the field of bespoke lenses, we have created a visual analysis area (simulating a work environment) to cater for office workers who can struggle with standard-focus lenses as well as others with special visual demands such as musicians and artists.

We are accredited suppliers of Zeiss surgical loupes to provide bespoke options for the dental and general surgeons close by in the Harley Street area.
